On May 12th, 2017, the SAT (Mexican tax authority) announced that it will be providing taxpayers an extension for the implementation of CFDI version 3.3 and Complemento de Pagos. Starting December 1st, 2017, all taxpayers will be required to comply with the CFDI version 3.3 and the Complemento de Pagos.
Although the CFDI version 3.2 will be sunsetted effective December 1st, it is highly recommended that you continue to focus on the implementation of CFDI version 3.3 and the Complemento de Pagos. It is extremely important to take advantage of the additional time to prepare for a successful update deployment.

What you need to know from the press release published by the SAT:
- As of July 1, 2017, both CFDI versions 3.2 and 3.3 will coexist in parallel. Taxpayers will be able to gradually migrate their billing processes to version 3.3 between July 1st and November 30th.
- As of December 1, 2017, the only version valid for issuing electronic invoices will be CFDI version 3.3.
- The issuance of the Complemento de Pagos will be optional starting July 1, 2017 (only with CFDI version 3.3) and mandatory as of December 1, 2017 (with CFDI version 3.3).
- The approval process for the cancelling electronic invoices will take effect on January 1, 2018.
