Ecuador SRI Electronic Invoicing Overview

As of January 1, 2015 all of the special taxpayers announced by the Ecuadorian Servicio de Rentas Internas (SRI) that issue any invoice equal to or greater than $4 USD must comply with the SRI New eInvoicing regulations. Additionally if an invoice is greater than $20 USD you must fill out all of the purchaser details (Company name, Identification number, RUC). 

Ecuador SRi eFactura & Reporting Requirements:

  • Electronic Documents - Invoices, Credit and Debit Notes, Witholding Receipts, Guia de Remision
  • Account Receivable mandates - Sending Invoices to customers – These must be approved by the Servicios de Rentas Internas (SRI )
  • Account Payable mandates - Receiving invoices from suppliers – It's mandatory that you validate the invoice via the SRI services.
  • Contingency - Will be used when the systems online are unavailable due to updates and maintenance 
  • Storage - Documents must be stored for 7 years
  • Cancellations - Applies to all electronic documents 
  • RIDE - Printed representation of an electronic document
